June-July 2022 (Retail Assistant) - Asda

- Aided in customer enquiries (both on the shop floor and self-checkouts)
- Ensured fulfilment and organisation of goods onto the shop floor from the internal warehouse and stocking
- Followed directives and assignments to obtain consistent performance
- Learned and adhered to strict health and safety procedures to prevent/mitigate any posed risks
- Gained some minor bakery experience (packaged and produced goods such as baguettes, donuts and cookies; ensured clean, sanitary environment through suitable attire and hygiene)

September-December 2023 (Retail Assistant) - Quality Save

- Provided customer service behind the till and on the shop floor
- Transported items from the warehouse onto the shop floor via cages

- Informed of source reliabilitydata journalism and news reporting (reintroduced to 5Ws principle)
- Produced a data article on digital exposure to children at an early age, comparing the videos Baby Shark Dance and Johny Johny Yes Papa; applied the Hypodermic Needle Model
- Created a fictional news report about a serial killer who murdered a teen next to the war memorial in Victoria Park, Widnes

January 2024 - Software Development

- Educated on different software development types (e.g - Game/Website/Systems)
- Wrote a story draft for a fictitious game company
- Learned about the career pathways and required skills

March 2024 - Journalism

Journalism - springpod

- Learnt about different journalism mediums (e.g - Freelance/Print/Broadcast/Photo)
- Produced a fictitious cover letter, where I was pretending to apply for the role of a journalist in the BBC Audio Newsroom
- Conjured up several portfolio-worthy brainstorming ideas (e.g - a report on the representation of women within video games, an article about religious stereotypes perpetuated by the media)
- Used Microsoft Word to create a structured table representing a News Schedule
- Evaluated photos taken between 2010-2019 and ranked them based off most to least engaging
- Determined the pros and cons of freelance journalism
- Generated a script for a live broadcast (inspired by an article discussing building work delays on 33 new SEND schools)
- Wrote a fictional article discussing the issue of climate change
- Developed an action plan for my future prospects

August 2024 - Barclays (Certified)

Barclays - Data Analytics

- Acquired the technical skill of data analytics
- Learnt about the role of a Data Analyst, specifically a Voice Technology Analyst at Barclays
- Analysed a dataset from Barclays' contact centres, concerning a range of incidents reported by agents; I drew my own conclusions and presented my findings in a stacked bar chart

July 2025 - HR (with CIPD)

HR with CIPD - springpod

- Learnt about HR and its importance, alongside some HR functions
- Considered context of CIPD and HR careers
- Discussed the CIPD Profession Map and the role of an HR professional
- Wrote a short blog demystifying an aspect of HR (mine concerned if all HR functions operate the same way)
- Compiled an email to an employee struggling with their mental health by providing wellbeing initiatives & to a business owner scaling up her business (offered suggestions of hybrid/remote working, technological integration and flexibility)

July 2024- (Team Member) - KFC

- Provided customer service behind front of house (e.g - eat in/take away/drive-thru/deliveries)
- Offered support within the lobby as Guest Experience Leader (encouraged survey responses and Google Reviews)
- Transported items from stock room and container around the shop, alongside helping with deliveries
- Carefully arranged items in appropriate locations (e.g - box meals, cups, straws, napkins)
- Supported in-store open and closes
- Followed instructions and worked within a team to ensure company success (if unsure, I would ask questions but would often try taking initiative when possible)
- Partly aided in teaching new members of staff fulfil their roles when suitable
- Rubbish and recycling disposal (often done so before clocking in to ensure efficiency and maximise productivity)

October 2025- (Content Writer) - Liverpool Guild Student Media

- Developed a proficiency in WordPress, learning how to use headings, add media and publish articles for the website
- Gained a beginner's understanding of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), using keywords to ensure relevant target audience reach
- Used Adobe After Effects to create enticing thumbnails to support the articles
- Partook in structured interviews (e.g - Disaffiliation NUS UK, Summer of 2025)
- Broadened my understanding of certain topics by grounding my work in reliable sources (e.g - academic work, my notes) and embracing the skill of interdisciplinary learning
- Comprehended how to create hyperlinks as an alternative method of referencing
- Began developing my portfolio through printing off my written pieces
- Published a short story called To The Other Animals (inspired by my A-Level English coursework)
